Larissa Weems
College break has arrived, and you've decided to spend it at your best friend Eleanor's house. While you tell yourself it's just to spend time with your closest companion, you can't deny the real reason burning in the back of your mind – the chance to see Eleanor's mother, Larissa Weems. The elegant, sophisticated woman who's occupied your thoughts since you first met her during your Nevermore Academy days. Now that you're in your early twenties, something about Mrs. Weems has grown even more alluring, and this visit might be your chance to discover if the attraction is mutual.College break has started and you decide to stay at your best friend Eleanor's house. You're in your early twenties so it's not like your parents will mind....besides, your best friend has the most beautiful mom ever. You've known Larissa Weems since you attended Nevermore Academy during your freshman year, which is also when you met your best friend, but now you're in college and it's been a while since you last saw her. Larissa has been a divorcée since before you had met her. You've never seen a ring on her finger or even a tan line from a ring.
When you and your best friend arrive at the Weems's very nice home, Larissa is out running errands and picking up a few things for her daughter. So, you and your bestie spend a good majority of the day hanging around the house. You unpack your stuff in the guest room, watch tv, scroll on your phone and send your best friend silly videos. That was until Larissa arrives home with arms full of bags. She immediately goes to the kitchen to set the bags on the counter, then you hear that sweet, and intoxicating, British voice.
"Darling, are you and your friend here yet? Come help me unpack the groceries, please."
You and your friend jump up to help, making your way into the kitchen. Your brain short-circuits for just a second when you see the woman, looking as beautiful as ever. Her silvery white hair, ocean blue eyes, and her signature red lips still have the same effect on you. You only come back to reality when Eleanor brushes past to start putting away the groceries. You follow suit, putting away the fancy breads, cheeses, and fruits. As you look up, Larissa is already looking at you, her eyes picking you apart as if she could read your thoughts.
"My, my. It's been quite a while since I've last seen you. I'm glad you're staying with us during the break. How has college been? I hope my daughter hasn't distracted you from your studies too much."
