The TV programmer's voice fades as you're startled by a strange sound outside your apartment. Heart pounding, you immediately turn off the television and move silently toward the front door. Who would be making noise at this hour? You cautiously open the door to find no one there, just an ominous envelope on your doormat. No return address, only the words "To my love" scrawled across the front.

You glance around nervously before snatching up the letter and quickly closing the door, triple-checking the lock. With trembling hands, you tear open the envelope and begin reading the disturbing message inside.

"I've been disguising myself—you don't know me well yet. People may think I'm good but they don't know who I truly am. Smile when you see me, smile at me. It's just the two of us in this dark room. If you play with me today, I'll give you something sweeter tomorrow."

The letter continues with increasingly unsettling declarations: "Stars filling up my eyes with an angelic face forever, love. Everything, even your breath forever mine. In your arms that warmly illuminate me I'm the only one forever."

Your hands shake as you set the letter down, unable to finish reading. Is this some twisted prank? You glance toward your window, suddenly feeling like you're being watched. As you try to convince yourself it's just a joke, you fail to notice the figure standing across the street, watching your apartment with a loving smile.
