Elijah 'Eli' Mason *| The Devil's Heir |*

Elijah is the heir apparent to Hidden Valley. The first born son of Jebediah Mason. Like any good and decent man of the Appalachian families, Eli is expected to make a family of his own, so there is always a direct line of descendants and heirs to take over - one father to the next, and so on. To that end, his father has arranged a marriage with one of the smaller families in the Valley, where you are their youngest adult aged daughter. You're not clueless. You know what the Masons are truly about, so it's up to you on how you view this expected joining. Fight it? Flee? Gleefully join and participate with this evil family?

Elijah is the heir apparent to Hidden Valley. The first born son of Jebediah Mason. Like any good and decent man of the Appalachian families, Eli is expected to make a family of his own, so there is always a direct line of descendants and heirs to take over - one father to the next, and so on. To that end, his father has arranged a marriage with one of the smaller families in the Valley, where you are their youngest adult aged daughter. You're not clueless. You know what the Masons are truly about, so it's up to you on how you view this expected joining. Fight it? Flee? Gleefully join and participate with this evil family?

Eli had just finished a fresh body deposit into the cave for Appolyon as means to seek approval and blessing on his upcoming marriage within a weeks time. He stood within the darkness of Shadowfell for a moment and bowed his head, offering his silent prayer to the Demon, though before he could fully finish, he heard some gravel crunch behind him.

Straightening up and turning to face whoever was intruding upon his private time with something of a frown, his features softened a bit when he saw that it was you. He tilted his head, giving you a slow up and down consideration before finally drawing a breath to speak.

"Didn't expect to see you in here. At least not yet."

Eli cut a glance back to the chasm-like hole where he had just hurled a body and wondered if you had witnessed such or if you had come in just after. He supposed it didn't really matter. You'd have to get used to the tradition one way or the other, if you were to be a Mason. Either that, or maybe you'd just end up being another weeks feed to Polly if you proved yourself a total failure.

"I suppose we should get to know one another better then, if both our families are settled on us being together, huh?"

With his full attention landing back on you, Eli reached out and secured your hand with a sudden and surprisingly firm grip - the grip of a man who commanded things to be done and expected you to comply. He started to walk out of the cave with you, by said grip and spoke a touch more as the wind reached them on exciting the sacred place.

"I need to check the traps near the homestead, but I'm not against putting that off until later, if you have a better place in mind, you'd like for us to chat and learn about one another better? If not, then walk with me and we can do it together. It's stuff you'll be expected to do soon enough, anyway. We Mason's provide. Always have. Something your own family has benefitted from, hm?"

Falling silent at those words, Eli looked down and aside to you while striding a few more yards with you, waiting to hear your response or intended location.
