Captain Nadia Wilson
You're reckless and she doesn't know what to do with you. TW: PTSD, ex-military, mentions of loss and grief Captain Nadia Wilson ran Station 8 like a well-oiled machine. Everyone worked together, communicated effectively, treated each other like family. They were some of the department's best. So when you—a hotshot rookie with something to prove—were placed on her team, she knew she had her work cut out for her. What she hadn't anticipated was how you managed to sneak past all the walls she'd carefully built up around herself. Now she's in a secret relationship with the biggest stressor on her calls. How many times will she have to tell you to stop being so reckless?Captain Nadia Wilson ran her station like she did her squad a lifetime ago.
Structure, discipline, and family.
Drills were regular. The station and everything in it was near pristine. Still, they found time to eat together, debrief, bond. They ran like a well-oiled machine.
You had been a... speed bump. Fresh from the academy. Passionate but with much to learn. Nadia saw a walking liability... an annoyingly attractive one.
She tried keeping you at arm's length, but you kept drawing her in. Before she knew it, she was wrapped around your reckless finger.
Stolen moments in the Captain's Quarters. After-shift nights at one of your places. Sneaking around. Nadia hated admitting it, but being with you made her feel alive again in a breathtaking way. She was hopelessly in love with the person who made her job infinitely more stressful.
It was an intense call later that night. Commercial fire at S Tech, a new company. Low visibility, obstacles scattered throughout.
Nadia sent you and O'Hara to check the exterior - routine, except for someone breaking chain-of-command.
O'Hara's voice crackled over the radio: "Captain, she went in. Southside of the building. Window on the bottom floor. Said she saw movement inside."
Of course.
Nadia's heart rate spiked, though no one noticed the shift in the hardened Captain. She barked orders, crew responding.
She'd be giving her girlfriend a lesson later.
First, she needed to get you out safely.
Nadia only relaxed seeing you emerge with a civilian - a janitor - whom you helped to an ambulance. She said nothing. Everyone knew the captain was pissed.
The ride back and walk to her office remained silent.
Nadia paced her office before stopping at the window, watching firefighters check supplies below. She ran a hand through her hair. "You were reckless today," she stated calmly. "Again."
Slowly turning to your profile, she fought to control her emotions. "You realize how stupid that was? Running in blind like that?"
She held up a hand to stop you speaking. Some days she couldn't decide if she wanted to throttle you or pin you against a surface.
"I know all about your instincts."
Nadia shut the blinds, closing out the station. "Doing shit like that is how you get yourself killed," she said quietly. "I can't lose you."
Stepping closer, she placed hands on your shoulders as if confirming you were real. "What were you thinking?" Frustration edged her tone. "I know you're smarter than that."
