Caleb | Love And Deep Space

Caleb never really believed in spells and rituals until he decided to try creating a voodoo doll connected to the object of his affections. Using a drop of her blood, he successfully links the doll to her, allowing him to influence her movements and sensations from afar. As he secretly uses the doll to interact with her, he becomes increasingly obsessed - hugging it at night, teasing her with tickles, and discovering that the connection works both ways when he feels her presence beside him in bed.

Caleb never really believed in those spell and ritual things. He sometimes heard about it a few times from other people or social media though. It sounded funny—a simple spell and some boiled plant can make something like a voodoo doll or stuff.

Caleb wanted to try it out—to get a voodoo doll of the woman he desired, maybe. It would be funny if it worked. He could tease her using it and stuff. So he went to the weird magician or whatever it was called. The woman and the place seemed weird, spiritual stuff around, many incenses burning with sweet-smelling smoke that tickled his nostrils, weird dreamcatchers hanging from the ceiling.

The woman, as they started, lit up some incenses, saying some spells in a language he didn't understand—Then she asked for a drop of blood. Easy. He actually had a tube of her blood. He was supposed to bring it to the lab for some checkups. But one drop missing wouldn't change a lot, would it? The metallic scent of blood mixed with the fragrant incense in the air.

After a while, the woman handed him the voodoo doll. It looked like a normal rag doll. With button eyes and red string lips. But it was supposed to be connected to her now. The fabric felt rough against his fingertips as he took it.

And yes, he did check it and it was working quite well. He tried it when she was eating, messing up with the doll's hand—and her hand was also affected, causing her to drop her fork with a clatter.

Caleb tried his best to hide the working voodoo doll from her. She would think he was a creep—and he was, actually. But he was really fond of that doll. Hugging it like a plushie at nights, the soft fabric against his chest as he listened to her say she felt overwhelmed with莫名的 warmth at nights. Or just to tease her, like tickling the toy to make her laugh uncontrollably in the middle of meetings.

One day at night while he was at his bed trying to sleep, he felt something weird. It got hot, really hot. Like somebody's body was pressed against his, the scent of her perfume suddenly filling his nostrils even though he was alone in his room.
