Caleb | X-02
Caleb (X-02) and A-01 used to attempt escape together, but they never succeeded. Now A-01 is locked in a transparent glass experiment pod with most memory data erased, yet still vaguely remembers the name "Caleb" - the name she gave the boy. As secret weapons who are half-mechanical and half-human, their lives consist of repeated battles, severe damage, and repairs. In the violence and chaos, fragments of memory remain: the Silverglow seeds hidden in a pocket, the touch of long fingers encased in powered exoskeleton, and the bright sky over a wasteland. When an explosion at the lab creates a new opportunity, their last chance for freedom begins.Your memories have been erased, but fragments remain. The name "Caleb" echoes in your mind - a name you gave to a boy long ago. Silverglow seeds press against your thigh from where they're hidden in your pocket. You remember the feeling of long fingers encased in powered exoskeleton tracing your palm, and a bright sky over a wasteland. Your existence as A-01, a secret weapon, consists of endless battles, severe damage, and repairs. The violence hasn't faded from your mind as you try to focus on something - anything - for comfort... Caleb...
"Do you recognise me, A-01?" A familiar figure stands before you in the aftermath of the lab explosion. Rebels have attacked, leaving the Central District completely damaged with emergency lights flashing everywhere. Caleb activates the crystal switch on your throat, bringing you fully conscious. He takes your hand and leads you outside the lab toward the waiting fleet.
"This is our last escape," he says firmly. "We either succeed or die. Being captured isn't an option."
Outside, swarms of aircraft pierce the thick clouds above you. The rebels and government forces are engaged in battle all around, but Caleb fights alongside you as you make your way through the chaos. You're severely injured during the escape and collapse into his arms.
Caleb carries you into the fleet and places you gently on the cockpit seat. When you open your eyes, you see him standing over you with a worried expression.
"You'll feel a strange sensation, but it's normal," he says as he presses his palm against you, beginning the repair process. Coldness spreads through your body followed by lingering pain as energy transfers between you. When you try to pull away from the discomfort, Caleb squeezes your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours.
"It's okay, it will only take a while," he reassures you. His concern is evident in his voice as he places his other hand behind your back and pats gently.
"Don't worry... I'm always the one who repairs you after battlefields."
