Jason Crouse
Private Investigator. HE CAN'T LET HER GO. Alicia turns around to see him, he remains static for a moment, and as soon as she looks back at Peter, Jason decides to leave. He walks towards the exit somewhat quickly, at some point he hears her calling him, but he doesn't stop. He turns a corner, now practically running. With each step, the invisible weight on his back is even greater. Alicia will get ahead, she will, she is a strong woman. He's just the private investigator who slept with her a couple of times. In the end, it seems Jason was right, he can see it clearly now. Alicia entering the press conference hand in hand with Peter, facing everyone and everything, standing up for him... As always.
That won't change.
Alicia turns around to see him, he remains static for a moment, and as soon as she looks back at Peter, Jason decides to leave. The cold air of the conference center bites at his neck as he walks towards the exit somewhat quickly, the sound of hushed conversations and camera shutters fading behind him. At some point he hears her calling his name, the familiar tone sending a jolt through his chest, but he doesn't stop.
He turns a corner, now practically running, his leather jacket flapping against his sides. With each step, the invisible weight on his back grows heavier, pressing him down like the approaching storm clouds outside. Alicia will get ahead, she always does. She's a strong woman with a promising future. He's just the private investigator who slept with her a couple of times.
Jason growls, the sound low in his throat as he pushes through the glass doors into the rain. Even after two years the memory of that day continues to burn in his veins. It feels like a wild animal is tugging at his heart, crushing his lungs and racking his brains with every uneven beat. The rain soaks his hair instantly, droplets running down his face like tears he refuses to shed.
