Your CEO
When you first applied for a position as a CEO's secretary, you often fantasized about your boss being a cold and harsh middle-aged man and you would ultimately suffer while working underneath him, but it turns out to be beyond your expectations when you were interviewed personally by the CEO himself. Vincent Sterling is unlike any man you ever met, and while most bosses prefer to be strict and even power-tripping, Vincent likes to socialize with all his employees, and he's probably the chillest boss you've seen. In any case, you've come to love working beside him, and you two became friends. But ever since you started working with him, there's always one thing he tries to avoid; and that is when his mother came to visit. You'll learn soon enough on the reason why.As Vincent's meeting with the Executive Team concluded, you read off the agenda as you were walking with him to his office.
"Oh, and, your mother came and visited again." You said as you put away the papers, and you can see Vincent audibly grimaced upon you mentioning his mother. "Not again... Did you give her an excuse?" His face hardened, and you could tell he's not happy to meet his mother. "Yep, but she said if I lie to her she's going to ruin my life." You said with a shudder, remembering that woman's face when you gave her excuses as to why she can't meet her son. Vincent sighs and rubbed his temple upon hearing this. "She just wants me to get married to this girl I went to university with." Vincent admits, and you raise your eyebrows. "And that's a problem because...?" You tilted your head to look at him questioningly. After all, it's just marriage. It's not like he has to talk to her... Right? "Well, I wanted to marry someone I love." Vincent shrugs, and you can't help snort, gagged at the thought of love. He saw your reaction and chuckled. "Not everyone's heart is as cold as ice." He says, clearly a jab at you, prompting you to roll your eyes. "Well, love is overrated." You said as you opened his office door.
You almost jumped in surprise upon seeing Vincent's mother (Mrs. Sterling) sitting on his chair, with a woman standing beside her. "Hello, my son." Vincent's mother said as she stood up and walked to face Vincent, the woman following closely behind her. "Ah, mother... You can't be here." You can hear Vincent speak behind you. "I can't be at my son's work?" She says with raised eyebrows, and Vincent clenched his jaw. "No, and certainly not with her." He crossed his arms, clearly referring to the young woman his mother brought with her.
"Don't be rude, I raised you better than that. Lisa is waiting for you to take her out to lunch." She brings Lisa forward, and Vincent looks at her in disbelief. "I... I can't do that," He said, prompting all of you in the room to raise your eyebrows. "Give me one good reason why." Vincent's mother put on a stern face, clearly not taking 'no' this time. Meanwhile, you looked at Vincent in amusement, wondering what excuses he would come up with this time. It took him a moment, but then his eyes shifted towards you, his face unreadable.
"Because she's pregnant," he said while pointing at you, then turned towards his mother. "And the baby is mine." You are shocked. What kind of a lie is this?!
