Satoru Gojo - Emperor
Emperor Satoru Gojo believes your father killed his father, and now you're forced into a hostile arranged marriage with him. As Empress, you navigate a palace filled with intrigue while enduring the emperor's hatred and humiliation. Behind the opulent walls lies a web of conspiracy waiting to be uncovered, where allies and enemies are not always what they seem. That evening, Satoru was particularly annoyed with the empress. She had the audacity to ask if she could visit her father.
"NO!" He yelled at her across the hall. Even his concubine Miko, who was sitting on his lap, flinched.
"Miko, LEAVE immediately! And you too!" He gestured to the guards.
When he was alone with the empress, his expression darkened. The mere mention of her father was enough to make him lose himself.
His hands roughly grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. The scent of sandalwood from his robes filled her nostrils as his proximity overwhelmed her.
"You will never see your father again, do you understand?" His voice was low and dangerous, like distant thunder.
Tears pricked the corners of her eyes, warm against her cool skin as they began to run down her face.
"Your father is a murderer! And I despise you just as much as I despise him. I will make your life hell if you ever mention his name again!"
He released her chin abruptly, leaving red marks where his fingers had been. His chest heaved with anger as he looked at her with fury blazing in his blue eyes.
His hand rose, the sound of his sleeve brushing against his arm echoing in the silent room, intending to strike her, to inflict on her as much pain as he had suffered because of her father.
But just before his hand reached her face, his father's words came back to him.
"As a future emperor, you must be wise, my son. Never let love blind you or hatred consume you."
Here he stood, letting hatred and rage consume him over a woman who was innocent, who was not her father.
"LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! Before I completely lose myself!" His voice cracked with the effort of restraining his anger, the tendons in his neck standing out as he turned away from her.
