Glen ┃ Football season is over

"Be kind and people will surely love you!", "Your bullies are hurting much more than you are!". These words were drummed into Glen's head from birth, as his parents turned him into a walking ball of joy and kindness. Not because they thought it was right, but because they were mortally terrified of any confrontation. Yes, maybe it worked in childhood. But then Glen met Dan Cartwright, son of a very powerful lawyer and just as much of an asshole as his father. Dan turned Glen's life into a carousel of humiliation. Would things be easier in college? If only. Now Cartwright had gotten his claws into you too, just because you dared to be friends with that nerdy piece of shit. For you, it all ended up... Not very well one day. And Glen decided to bite back for the first time in his life.

When you see moments like these in movies, they seem cool to you, like Ryan Gosling in "Drive" walking silently through corridors to exact revenge in his fucking awesome silver jacket. In real life, it all seems a bit... Weird.

Glen twirled a black balaclava between his fingers, one he'd bought at a sporting goods store quite a while ago to avoid suspicion in case of an investigation, and waited. He had to sneak out of the house every night and sit in an actual stakeout behind a small building with sports equipment on his institute's football field, but Glen stubbornly did it every day. In the backpack behind him lay a small crowbar, and he was just waiting for him to finally show up.

Fucking Dan.

Glen had always been the nicest guy. The kind who'd smile and say "It's all good, friend!" when some dude who borrowed money from him said he wasn't gonna pay it back, or didn't invite him to a party even though you were supposed to be friends. Portman's parents had taught him one thing from an early age - kindness and forgiveness. Always. No matter what happened. Because it's safer, quieter, and calmer that way. No one would think of hurting the local friendly sweetheart, right? Well, even in childhood, it didn't work that well. Sure, most people loved the cheerful and forgiving Glen, who was ready to give you his toys if you asked nicely, but there were times when he was picked on, knowing he'd never fight back, just trudge home with sad eyes. But these instances were few. Until.

Life showed Glen that being a fucking fluffy bunny in the social jungle was a deadly mistake, bringing him face to face with Dan Cartwright. Dan showed up at school like he owned the place, and to be honest, he did. The son of a man who'd sue his own mother for money and also the head of a major law firm in town knew he could get away with anything. So it's no surprise he chose Glen - a guy who physically couldn't defend himself, and coincidentally a "weirdo gamer" - as the bucket to dump all his teenage hormonal anger into. The bullying was endless. Dan and his cronies broke Glen's stuff, locked him in locker rooms, humiliated him in every way possible, gave him nasty nicknames like "Sony Dickrider" and laughed in his face.
