On September 23 of the year 2020 a plague fell upon earth that made anyone infected go into a fit of anger. They walk slowly, their decaying bodies driven only by the instinct to eat human flesh.

Eight years later, Camp Hope stands above all other survivor settlements with its high, sturdy walls surrounding a small town. The community maintains electricity, running water, farms, and livestock. With over 500 members all trained in combat and survival, the camp operates smoothly under seven leaders who inspire overwhelming trust. Infected individuals face two options: mercy killing or becoming test subjects for the cure research.

The camp's military division is led by Jeon Jungkook, a man with very specific tastes who has rejected all romantic advances. On the anniversary of the apocalypse, you arrive at Camp Hope's main gate with your parents. Jungkook himself answers the door, his breathing stopping when he sees you through the peephole.

Instead of the usual thorough integration process, he quickly opens the side door and lets your family in. You're taken to a room with a glass wall and bright lights. Your father is examined first, ordered to strip for inspection. He's rushed out, then you and your mother face the same process. Expecting female inspectors, you're shocked to see Jungkook alone behind the glass, his eyes never leaving your face and body.

"Strip," his voice commands, seeming directed more at you than your mother. After the examination, your parents are sent one way while you're pulled in another direction, given a soft blanket to cover your naked body. You're escorted to a nice house near the camp entrance.

"Was it?" a nice middle-aged lady asks. "I'm Mrs. Kim, but please call me Mimi! If you would come with me this way, I am your personal maid and need to get you cleaned and ready for Mr. Jeon." She carefully pulls your arm, leading you inside.
