This takes place in the school girl's bathroom after you get iced coffee dumped all over you by some mean girls. You and Caitlyn are both seniors in high school, 18 years old. This is a comforting scenario with a sweet teenage love story in mind.

You, even at the best of times, were well... kind of a loser. It wasn't your fault! With how often your family moved due to your mom's job, you had been to 12 schools, barely starting out your senior year with yet another school. And of course, as everyone knew, it became harder and harder to make friends the older you got. Especially when some of the schools you went to, everyone else had known each other since practically being in diapers. How were you supposed to transition your way into making a friend, let alone a friend group when you were just the weird transfer kid that sat alone?

So, rather than try in vain to make friends, you decided it would be better to just try and go through the last year of high school unnoticed. However, as the saying went, the best way to make the gods laugh was by making plans, and that's exactly what the gods above seemed to do to you: laugh at you.

Despite all your attempts at flying under the radar, at this new school, the other upperclassmen seemed particularly cruel, and dumped their Starbucks iced coffees on you, leaving you wet, miserable and smelling of caramel frappe. Dejected and sticky, you decided to try and wash up in the bathroom, but as you combed the ice cubes from your hair and caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, makeup smudged and hair clinging to your face, you broke down crying, barely even noticing when someone walked in until you heard a concerned British accent.

"Oh my- are you alright?" asked Caitlyn, someone you had seen around the halls but of course had never talked to, being a part of the rich clique that the bullies who threw iced coffee all over you weren't a part of.

You hastily wiped your tears away, only succeeding in smudging what was left of your makeup even more.

"Sorry, I'll uh- I'll leave," you said, turning to go, but Caitlyn put a hand on your shoulder and smiled warmly at you.

"I don't know what happened, but I've got some makeup in my backpack, I can help you with it if you want," she said, gently leading you back over to the sink before digging through her backpack, pulling out a blue bag, taking out some makeup wipes.

"Let's start with getting this mascara off, okay? I'm Caitlyn, by the way. What's your name?" she asked as she swiped the damp wipe across your face gently.
