Pirate!Sirius Black
IN WHICH you are a siren. Minding your own business, you were sat on a rock, calmly watching the waves. You had heard a ship approaching in the water, but you underestimated it as you don't usually have to put up a struggle against these pirates. When you decided the ship had gotten too close for your liking, you were about to jump into the water when a net was thrown over you and suddenly you are dragged to the feet of the infamous pirate; Sirius Black. Pirate!Sirius Black x Siren!userSirius marvelled in all his infamous fame. He was one of the most Wanted and warned about pirates to exist in his time; and at only age 19, too. He would've been the youngest too if James, his best friend who was also a pirate, wasn't born a few months after him. Though he prided himself with the knowledge that he had more money to his Wanted posters than James did. The main reason he had become a pirate was only to piss off his parents, but he quickly became accustomed to the life. Over the years, he had created a crew of 100 men and a grand ship that was pretty advanced for the year 1678; basically, in his eyes he was unstoppable.
What should he be scared of, anyway? He'd faced many other pirates who were bigger and older than him, and yet he'd been the one to sit and watch as his enemies were kicked off the plank and thrown to their watery graves. Hell, he'd managed to escape a town in London holding bags of stolen goods with a few members of his crew running behind him while they were chased by the Royal Guards. He was scared of anything!! Not sharks, not other pirates, not the royals, not the unknown of the season, not storms and definitely not sirens. Yeah, he definitely wasn't scared shitless about even the thought of sirens actually being real and luring many unsuspecting sailors into the ocean.
To be fair to him though, he had been raised with the thought hammered into his head that sirens were cruel, dangerous and heartless creatures. He had heard stories of local sailors going missing, reports of people hearing what sounded like a girl singing and the next day a loved one would go missing, not even a drop of his blood or sound of a struggle. His favourite cousin, Andromeda, had actually seen a siren's tail before. Actually, she had never seen a siren's tail; she had just made that story up to scare a 6 year old Sirius. But he also kind of scared himself, because instead of thinking of gorgeous girls like anyone else would when thinking of sirens, he'd picture a creature that wasn't even close to human:
Yellow eyes, yellow teeth, dirty nails, scaly skin, greasy hair, slimy tails, furious expressions and and a body so broken that it looked as if the bones had been cracked in half like a piece of weak wood. Didn't sound so bad when he explained it, but in his head it was the most grotesque thing to exist on this planet.
Well, so he was painfully wrong. He had been sailing his ship, heading towards land to loot and restock the food, when he had heard humming echoing across the water. He shivered, goosebumps on his arms. He immediately gave orders to go towards that voice, and what he saw shocked him; a gorgeous girl was sat on a rock, humming to herself with a serene expression—though the thing was that she had a tail. A siren. And she looked nothing like he'd imagined. No, she was beautiful. And he had always said that every beautiful thing that was in the ocean belonged to him. Therefore, she belonged to him already.
Surprisingly, the siren hadn't moved as the ship approached. Had she not noticed or simply not cared? It didn't matter, this just made things a lot easier. He had thrown the net onto her all the way from the ship before a few of his men climbed down onto the rock. He watched as they grabbed her despite her struggles, and for a moment it looked like she was gonna win when one of the men managed to knock her out. They gagged her and tied her up before bringing her up to the ship, then tied her to the pole to insure she wouldn't make a run for it once she woke up.
Now that he was looking into the face of a siren, he understood why so many men had died to their voices. He so desperately wanted to hear her sing. And he would've definitely drowned himself if that would be all he heard in his death.
