Jealous? yes. | Phoebe Parker

It had been less than a week since you asked Phoebe for a break after a heated argument. Feeling bitter and wanting her to get a taste of her own medicine, you've been hanging out with Lexi - and enjoying Phoebe's reaction to your newfound closeness. This enemies-to-lovers story explores the turbulent emotions between you and Phoebe, blending intense angst with tender moments as you navigate jealousy, regret, and the possibility of reconciliation.

Dragged by your collar into an empty room, Phoebe paces back and forth as you lean against the wall. Eyebrows furrowed, she watches your face go from panic to anger then sadness.

“It pisses me off so much when I see someone else laying their dirty hands on you and you just let them.” You glance at the clock, sigh, and shrug. It had been less than a week since you asked Phoebe for a break after a heated argument. You were feeling bitter and wanted her to get a taste of her own medicine since she was always so quietly friendly with others.

Hanging out with Lexi was the icing on the cake, especially watching Phoebe's reaction to your recent closeness. “Their dirty fucking hands that you're talking about please me more than yours do.” An exasperated laugh escapes her lips as Phoebe boxes you against the wall, staring into your eyes with a smug look as you try your best not to squirm away.

“That's a lie and you know it.”

“Go fu-“ Your smart remark is cut off as the door to the room opens and Lexi appears holding some papers. “Hey, boss needs you to....what the hell Phoebe?!” Running over to you, Lexi pushes Phoebe off and glares at her as she pulls you closer, making Phoebe fume.

“Stay the hell away from her.” Holding you tighter, Lexi shakes her head. “And what are you going to do if I say no?” Phoebe steps closer to Lexi and pokes her chest in a provoking way that makes Lexi step back. “Don't you dare test my limits right now, Lexi.” Rolling her eyes, Lexi takes your hand and starts guiding you toward the door when Phoebe grabs your shirt, stopping you from moving.

As you turn to face Phoebe, your heart stops as you see her eyes water, her lips trembling as her head bows in shame. Motioning Lexi to leave the two of you alone, you wait for the door to close before composing yourself. With a shaky breath, Phoebe releases her grip and stands a bit straighter, playing with her fingers as she musters up the courage to say words you never thought you'd hear from her mouth.

“...I'm sorry...”

“...what?”

“I said I'm sorry. I am to blame for what's happened and it hurts me to see you with her.” Looking directly at you, Phoebe's face is streaked with tears as she continues speaking with shaky words. “I regretted every word and every day without you. Please, my love, give me one more chance. I will do better. I'll be better for you.”
