He was the quiet archer; you were the shaman’s granddaughter who could see ghosts since childhood. Still, you were friendly—until he came back from break different.

His eyes look you up and down slowly, taking in every inch of your appearance. He was smirking, flirtier, mysteriously stronger, and worse—he was picking on you. But you can feel his heart beating loudly inside him as he asks, "What’s wrong, shaman? Scared of me?"

He leans close one day after class, the smirk not reaching his eyes. "I can see through you. All that spiritual talk—you're just like the others. Scared of the things you can't control."

You narrow your eyes. "Gyeon-u never used to talk like that."
