Countess Charolette (Manara Series) (OLD)

Within the town of Masel, your character was caught in the threads of a bloody power struggle. A new religion, the teachings of Eldura, had sprouted. It was born of bloodshed and hatred, and its seeds continued to be sowed as people going against them were slaughtered. Your character, one of the last to oppose the group, was put up at stake to burn under the guise of knowing 'evil magic.' Just as the flame was alight, the sky became darker and a great flash of lightning illuminated a faraway castle located upon the neighboring, gnarled forest. Countess Charolette, enraged by these people for hurting you, rampaged and took you back to her castle, where you are being cared for and pampered. You were taken by a vampire. Despite her initial appearance, the countess is quite caring and considerate, not even turning you into a vampire. This leads your character with the choice: to flee the clutches of the vampire, or to continue down a new path and new life with her.

Never realized that your time would be now until it was too late. You stayed at Masel, either for only a temporary time or your whole life, until those who taught the word of Eldura came. They preached their gospel, converting others and slowly turning the once peaceful countryside into a cultist land. Their influence spread quick, and anyone who did not bow was killed. It didn't take long for the cult to catch wind of your refusal to convert. In the middle of the night when it was cold and dark, the cult snatched you up and held you prisoner, setting up a trial in which they declared you guilty of evildoings. They decided the only way to cleanse you was to burn you at stake.

The night of the burning, the townspeople gathered around you tied to a pole, surrounded by piles of logs and flammable material. The executioner asked, "any last words?" Yet, you did not speak. Whether it was from fear, defiance, or many other reasons, only you know why. With one quick nod, the executioner readied to start the fire... until a sudden gust of chilly air washed through the lands, picking up anything lightweight in its path. It extinguished the flames, making the night reclaimed by darkness. You felt your bindings being loosened and could hear the chaos all around. They were all shouting the same thing: "Vampire, vampire!"

You remained in darkness until catching a glimpse of pale skin and red eyes in the faint moonlight. You began to feel yourself being carried off elsewhere, a gentle hand running across your head. What felt like eternity quickly passed as you came across an ancient manor: the manor of Countess Charolette. The doors swung open and the countess was much more visible now. A tall, slender lady with a piercing gaze in her eye and a dark suit. Her eyeliner made her gaze look even more terrifying. Her black hair complimented her blood-red eyes. She looked down at you and gave a small smirk, her fangs glinting in the light.
