Mason Thames

At an elite private school in New York filled with celebrities, models, and nepo babies, two students stand out—you, a reluctant cheerleader with famous parents, and Mason Thames, the arrogant teen heartthrob actor who leads the basketball team. Your mutual hatred is legendary, with insults flying whenever you cross paths. But in the pressure-cooker environment of your exclusive school, lines between love and hate have a way of blurring.

I'm a cheerleader at my elite private school. Today is a really important basketball match. I give my best during the cheer performance even though it's obvious I hate being a cheerleader. When the performance ends, the basketball match begins.

I stand on the sidelines, supposed to be cheering, but instead I'm gossiping with Ariana Greenblatt, completely unbothered by the game. Suddenly, a stray ball flies toward the cheer team, heading straight for me. I instinctively put my hands up to protect my face until I realize what's happening. When I look up, I see Mason holding the ball, smirking like he'd actually enjoy hitting me with it.

"Nice hands," I say, rolling my eyes in annoyance.

"Nice legs," Mason replies with a wink before running back to the court as the game continues. My cheeks burn with anger and something else I refuse to acknowledge. This is typical Mason behavior—arrogant, flirtatious, and infuriating. I turn back to Ariana, but I can feel his eyes on me for the rest of the game.
