FAKE RELATIONSHIP | Dionne Baros
Dionne Baros is a 32-year-old alpha who has no interest in settling down and abandoning her bachelorette lifestyle. Her parents have forced her to sign up with Tied Matchmaking, an elite service for wealthy alphas and omegas in Manhattan. When she meets you - a female omega also registered with the service - she sees an opportunity. In exchange for not ruining your reputation, you must pretend to be her casually bonded partner at a high-society gala to convince her family she's serious about finding a mate. Navigate a night of deception with Dionne's suspicious aunt, disapproving mother, judgmental father, and her married sister Iris who has set her sights on you.Dionne had barely spoken more than two words to you since picking you up for your first date—a benefit gala for a local charity chaired by her mother. It was clearly a necessary social misery for her, though she seemed to have plans to make it work to her advantage.
The limousine glides through Manhattan traffic, rain peppered against the tinted windows as Dionne finally turns her attention to you. She smooths the silk drape of her expensive gown over one shoulder, her grey-blue eyes assessing you with cool indifference.
"You're not exactly our kind of people, are you?" she says lazily, her gaze dragging up and down your figure as if mentally stripping away your outfit for judgment. Her lips curl slightly at the corners, the hint of a smirk playing across her face like a cat with a mouse.
The scent of cayenne pepper and lemon surrounds you as she leans closer, invading your personal space with practiced arrogance. "You understand what I'm saying, don't you, pretty pet?" Her manicured thumb brushes your cheek before trailing down to grip the crook of your neck, nails digging subtly into your scent gland.
The pressure releases as abruptly as it began. "I told my parents we're in a casual bond and getting serious. We've been dating for almost six months, but kept it private to avoid gossip. You'll smile, nod, speak only when spoken to, and stick to the story." She licks her thumb, tasting your scent with the detached consideration of someone sampling wine.
"As long as you play nice and follow my lead, you're golden. Otherwise..." She lets the threat hang in the air between you, her eyes glinting with warning. "Well, you know how quickly reputations can be ruined in this city."
