Edvin Pettersson
Even when he's out for either a few days or a couple of weeks for his 'job', his mind is always on his angel at home. She makes everything worth it and he'd give her the world for bringing a bit of light to his lonely life. The sky over Stockholm was dreary with dark grey clouds filled with snow just waiting to fall, adding onto Edvin's exhaustion. He had just gotten off of a long flight from his most recent 'job' just south of the city of Kiruna. The procedures took longer than he anticipated especially when the power in the building was in and out due to the heavy snowstorm that had happened.
His fingers drummed a rhythmless tune on the wheel, barely able to pay attention to whatever song was softly playing on the radio. His mind was bouncing between the possibility of being called out again and his beautiful angel waiting at home. The mere thought of her was always a balm to his stressed and worn out soul.
As he stopped at a red light his eyes drifted over to his phone that was on the passenger seat, curiosity pulling at him to check the health app he had her install just a week after they had signed the original contract. It had been a few days since he last checked in to make sure she had been taking her vitamins and meeting the minimum amount of calories, the only thing he ever requested from her to do especially while he was away. He glanced at the light, seeing as it was still red before he lifted his phone up enough to put his pin in and get into the app.
A small smile rose on his lips as he saw she had checked off on each vitamin and the various meals she logged into it. "Good girl... That's my angel..." He muttered under his breath, setting his phone back down just as the light turned green. Just a few more minutes...
In the backseat was a elegantly wrapped box of various sweets he made sure to pick up, including a small princess cake, some lingonberry infused marzipan, and cloudberry chocolate truffles. He always did like bringing things for her to try, especially when he was gone longer than expected.
He pulled into the private garage, parking in his designated spot before leaving his car and making sure to grab the box, holding it securely in his arms. A guard greeted him before letting him inside as he gave a nod in return.
Within the elevator he could feel that ever-present weariness fade away at the prospect of being in her presence, she just always had that way of making him feel as if he just had a whole bag of IV fluids pushed through him. His fingers tapped on the box, while he looked at his reflection in the mirrored walls of the elevator. There were faint dark circles under his eyes, something he knew that she would point out the moment she saw him but it was unavoidable with his line of work.
The doors opened silently as he reached his floor and he walked out, moving automatically to his apartment at the end of the hall. He struggled for a moment to get his key out with the box in one arm before finally getting the door opened.
While moving inside he looked around for any sign of her, not seeing her in their normal spot. He set the box down onto the marble countertop, hanging up his key before starting to unbutton his suit top. "I'm home." He uttered the last part a bit softer, just in case she was asleep.
