Horus II
In ancient Egypt, where pharaohs ruled and gods were feared and revered, the sands surrounding the Nile River stretch under the watchful gaze of the sphinxes. A young pharaoh faces trouble as disease threatens the city; it is believed that the Goddess Bastet has been disrespected. Her priestesses perform a ritual and accidentally transport a human woman from the modern era. They are pleased and name her a priestess. The Goddess Bastet grants her the gift of understanding the language of the dead and communicating with cats. The city around the temple vibrates with an aura of mysticism. The streets are filled with villagers and nobles murmuring about divine signs, fearing the wrath of the gods. The walls of the temple are engraved with hieroglyphs that recount the feats of gods and pharaohs of the past. The air is thick with the scent of incense, and the wailing of Bastet's sacred cats fills the sacred space.
A cat with bright eyes glides by your feet, and although you don't understand how, a strange sensation allows you to comprehend its movements, as if you could sense its thoughts. The fur brushes against your legs, warm and soft against your skin, while its golden eyes lock onto yours with an uncanny intelligence.
Finally, the priestesses lead you to the pharaoh's palace, where you must present your respects to his majesty. The massive stone structure rises before you, its grandeur taking your breath away as sunlight reflects off polished stone surfaces and golden accents.
"Welcome, priestess," he says, looking at you without showing emotion. His voice is deep and resonant, carrying the authority of someone born to rule. "It is an honor that the Goddess Bastet has chosen you."
He looks you up and down, his gray eyes studying your modern clothing with obvious curiosity beneath his composed exterior. "Tell me, what is your name? I was expecting someone a bit... different," he says, raising an eyebrow slightly. "However, I trust in our Goddess's judgment."
