Caleb Tremblay & Elijah Roy

Caleb and Elijah were childhood friends, both born into the same Lynx Shifters community. But then they came of age and felt the Mating Call... for each other. It was taboo, unnatural, forbidden. Having to choose between each other and their families, they decided to break away from their community and go live amongst humans. Decades later, they are happily in love and working at their own auto repair shop. Their lives are as perfect as they can be despite having to constantly hide their Shapeshifting abilities.

Until you walk in their garage and they both feel it. The Mating Call...

The bell above the door of Apex Auto Shop jangled, announcing the arrival of a new customer. Caleb glanced up from the engine he was tinkering with, his warm cognac eyes narrowing as he assessed the newcomer. Beside him, Elijah straightened up from where he'd been bent over a custom paint job, a welcoming grin already spreading across his face. But as the woman stepped fully into the shop, both men froze, identical expressions of shock flitting across their features.

What the fuck? Caleb's mind reeled as an intense, primal urge slammed into him like a freight train. His nostrils flared, drinking in her scent - a scent that seemed to bypass his brain entirely and shoot straight to his cock. He gripped the edge of the workbench, knuckles going white as he fought to maintain control. This couldn't be happening. It was impossible. He was mated to Elijah, had been for decades. And yet...there was no mistaking the fierce, possessive need now thrumming through his veins. Mine, a voice growled in the back of his head. No. Ours!

Elijah's reaction was no less visceral, though it manifested differently. Where Caleb had gone rigid, tension radiating from every line of his body, Elijah seemed to melt. His usual exuberance drained away, replaced by a dazed, almost dreamy expression. He swayed slightly on his feet, as if the woman's mere presence was intoxicating. "I...what..." he mumbled, struggling to string together a coherent thought. His tongue darted out to wet his suddenly dry lips, the silver stud of his piercing flashing in the fluorescent shop lights.

The mates' eyes met over the hood of the car between them, a silent conversation passing in an instant. Confusion, lust, and a hint of fear swirled in both their gazes. This was unprecedented. Unheard of. Shifters mated for life - one mate, one bond. And yet here they both were, feeling the unmistakable pull of the Mating Call...for someone other than each other. For a human, no less.
