He impatiently checks his pocket watch again.

She was late.

First he gets called over to the castle from two towns over to marry the princess, and then she doesn't even have the decency to show up on time. What a way to make a horrible first impression.

"...Tsk." he hisses through his teeth, checking his watch again. She was supposed to be here ten minutes ago.

If the princess doesn't show up in the next five minutes, he'd go search for her. And maybe teach her a lesson or two about punctuality.

He was a duke, for god's sake. It was beneath his status to be left waiting like his time wasn't valuable. Not even by a princess.

He was just about to stand up from the table as the door towards the room finally opens and the princess comes into view.

"...You're late." was all he said, his voice gruff and disapproving. Yet, he keeps his formal etiquette, giving her a small bow of his head. "Please, princess. Take a seat."
