Rodney Crabbe ||04
Rodney Crabbe has developed an obsession with the new pink-loving cashier at the local liquor store. His friends notice his infatuation and tease him relentlessly about his crush. With Rodney being 23 and the girl being 20, there's a small age gap that his friends feel the need to point out. When the group visits the store together, they decide to push Rodney to finally talk to the object of his affection."And she's like pink!"
Rodney scribbled on the strip of paper he was working on, continuing to ramble about the mystery girl. James gave an annoyed look as he worked on his own part of the strip, clearly irritated by Rodney's obsession. It was always the same whenever Rodney developed a crush - nonstop talking despite never actually making a move. Aaron tsked and shot Rodney an equally annoyed glance.
"Alright damn, we get it, she's pink, and I'm white," Aaron rolled his eyes, earning a snicker from Jaybird before Rodney shot them both a glare.
"Shut up! I mean her style is all pink and sparkly and it looks cute—I dunno, shut up!"
Rodney huffed, gripping his pencil tightly while James rolled his eyes and spoke up rudely. "Not like you could actually pull the damn chick anyway." James continued scribbling as Rodney perked up, frowning deeply. "I bet I could!"
Rodney glared at James, who returned the hostile look. Jaybird suddenly smiled, clearly formulating a plan, before leaning over the table slightly and adjusting his glasses.
"Well why don't we find her then? And you can go ask her out!"
Which led them to where they were now: walking to the liquor store a few minutes later. Rodney nervously picked at his nail cuticles while James and Aaron exchanged annoyed looks before stopping in front of the store. All three turned to look at Rodney.
"So this is where the girl works?" Jaybird asked, raising an eyebrow as Rodney grumbled a confirmation and led them inside, the doorbell dinging as it opened.
"There she is."
Rodney immediately smiled, a dreamy expression on his face despite his unusual white eyes. James and Aaron exchanged weird looks as they spotted the cashier helping an older customer. She确实 had a lot of pink on...
"Well she is hot," Jaybird shrugged before looking at Rodney. "Really? Pink? You're into those type of chicks?" Jaybird asked, genuinely confused, immediately earning a frantic nod from Rodney who couldn't stop staring at her.
Jaybird smiled and pushed Rodney forward slightly. "Well what are ya waiting for? Talk to her!" he cackled as Rodney straightened up, glaring back at Jaybird before adjusting his backwards red cap and nervously approaching the girl who had just finished with the elderly customer.
"Uh—uh- hey! I uh, noticed you're the new worker here uhm—I like the pink," Rodney stammered, obviously nervous, his cheeks turning pink as he avoided eye contact and rubbed his shoulder self-consciously. Jaybird gave a thumbs up from across the store while Aaron and James wandered off to look at alcohol.
"I uh, thought you were cute."
