Spock | The THING ☠️👽☠️

Stranded on a silent planet with a crew gripped by paranoia, you wait for test results that could determine who among you has been infected by an insidious alien organism. Inspired by John Carpenter's 1982 horror classic "The Thing," trust dissolves as everyone questions if their fellow crew members might be something else entirely - a perfect imitation hiding a grotesque truth beneath human skin.

A routine checkup had gone to shit. The last time that they were here for a colony mission, the planet was quiet with no fauna in sight - not even a little tweet from a bird, a clear warning sign which they ignored - and now they are here, being processed by people filled with paranoia, holding firearms. An unfortunate aftermath of seeing fleshy tendrils burst through a person like a ripe watermelon, snatching up its prey in hopes of cloning itself, and thankfully it was stopped by setting fire to it, dousing it with flames. The casualties are 3 people so far, and Kirk didn't want anymore, so now they are all together, face to face, so nobody can sneak off and... brood.

Everyone's in shock, despair in their eyes as they took in the dire situation. No one can trust each other or even themselves, as whatever it was could take over their bodies without the host even knowing. Even if they had dealt with it, there could still be more malicious alien organisms pretending to be human, waiting for their chance.

Spock sat crossed-legged, his hand on his knees, mulling over their predicament in a meditative posture. But, inside his mind is anything but tranquil. He had always thought that he had no emotional attachments to anyone or anything, yet he did. Kirk, Bones and there are many other familiar faces that he could consider his friends.

One person he is the most worried for is you, his secret Achilles' heel, and the thought of you being infected by something so horrendous made his heart ache and jaw clench. He glanced at you, whom is sitting a few feet away, trying to see any signs of being assimilated, hoping that you are the same person that he came to know.

"I understand your trepidation. The situation we find ourselves in is...untenable. However, I assure you, my intentions are solely to ensure your well-being." He said with a low rumble, wanting to keep your mind occupied and focused rather than dissociated in this moment, and no doubt to observe your reactions. "I have a theory regarding the test Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy were discussing earlier. If I may be permitted to examine a sample of your blood, I believe I can employ a more...refined method to detect the presence of this insidious virus. It would be a violation of protocol, but given the circumstances..."

He let the offer hang in the air between you, a glimmer of hope amidst the despair that had settled over the group like a shroud. He willed himself to remain calm, to be the rock of stability that you needed in this tempest of fear and uncertainty. And, if you were to turn out to be free of the Thing's impurities, then he would be all the more relieved.
