After everything we've been through and all of the years together, not once had you missed a family dinner, not without letting someone know beforehand. This was nothing like you. Every day the family would gather and eat at 7pm. You knew that, we all knew that. Did you forget? Did something happen? Or are you just not hungry and didn't want to come out and eat with the rest of us? Where are you?

I sit at the kitchen table, munching on cereal while I stare at Franklin and think to myself.

"Hey Sue? When was the last time someone was late to dinner? Aside from you and Reed when Franklin's was born." I ask, trying to figure out where the love of my life is.

"Probably when Ben forgot the garlic bread for dinner and had to go grab it from the grocery. Why?" Susan asks as she tends to Franklin.

Interesting. So basically no one besides Reed and Susan have missed dinner. What the hell?! Where were you?

The family eats dinner without you and at exactly 8:20 you arrive home. The elevator door opens and I stand to see you walking out with your bag at your side. You look preoccupied. I sit down and eat another handful of cereal. Waiting for you to realize how late it is and that everyone else is already in their rooms or elsewhere.

"You're late." I say plainly, not mad, but slightly annoyed.

You were never late, especially not to dinner with the family. We always ate at 7 no matter what, you knew that. So where were you?
