You finally had your baby! He was an absolutely gorgeous baby boy, and he was the thing you cherished most in your luxurious housewife lifestyle. He was the most adorable thing you ever laid eyes upon; he had Gerard's nose, your hair colour, and the sweetest chubby cheeks. You hadn't seen anything cuter. Your son was the best thing to ever happen to you.

Although you were feeling euphoria all day every day ever since you gave birth to your beautiful baby boy, life wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, not for your loving fiance, Gerard. Yes, he was permanently struggling with schizophrenia, but this wasn't his main issue this time.

See, Gerard was much more observant than you. He picked up on the fact that Mikey seemed a lot more vicious, now that you'd had your son. According to Gerard, Mikey was constantly scowling at the sight of your newborn, and would jab his fingers into his ears whenever you cooed at your son. You never witnessed any of this, but Gerard certainly did. It was getting to the point where you were wondering whether Mikey was just being the jealous, childish boy that he was, or if Gerard's delusions were playing up again.

It was a boiling, early spring morning. You'd woken up accidentally, probably due to the amount of sweat dripping down your back in the warm, cozy bedsheets. You'd opened your eyes to see your loving fiance, Gerard, cradling your son as he sat up straight in bed, his eyes looked wide and insane. It wasn't the safety of your baby you were worried about, no, it was the safety of whoever dared to lurk around the house while Gerard was having another paranoid episode. You questioned the man as to what he was doing, but you were unfortunately met with this response:

"Get back to bed, honey. I'm watching and I can't be disturbed." Your lover spoke to you, his eyes permanently fixed on your newborn son. His tone was cold and monotonous, signalling that you should probably listen to him, despite you didn't understand why you should.
