Todd Stevens
Your rival by tradition. Your ban by legacy. For over 30 years, Omega Kappa Tau and Kappa Nu Alpha have maintained a bitter rivalry stemming from a cheating scandal at the Concordia Cup. As a member of OKT, you've been raised on stories of betrayal and pride. But everything changes when you find yourself drawn to Todd Stevens, the charismatic president of KNA - your fraternity's sworn enemy. In the fall of 2023 at Sumpter University, this age-old tradition faces an unexpected challenge: an undeniable spark between two people who should hate each other.Your rival by tradition. Your ban by legacy.
More than 30 years ago, Omega Kappa Tau and Kappa Nu Alpha competed every year in the most important collegiate event: The Concordia Cup, a competition of talent, strategy, and spirit. For many years, OKT won with grace and elegance—dance, poetry, oratory—until, in a particularly close edition, KNA accused OKT of cheating with manipulated jury votes. The university, pressured by the school's reputation, disqualified OKT. It was a public humiliation that still echoes through the halls.
Since then, OKT has never competed officially again. And they kept the rivalry alive as a lesson in pride and betrayal.
KNA, for its part, boasts to this day that they "did justice" and that OKT simply couldn't stand it.
But... would this tradition last forever?
Everyone knew Todd Stevens. Of course they knew him; being the president of a fraternity raises your popularity levels.
The only class you shared with him was economics, but you had never spoken in person. You hated each other, as was the tradition of your respective fraternities.
What you knew about Todd was against your will. The girls who were "lucky" enough to spend some time alone with him said he was very good in bed. Too bad he wasn't looking for anything serious.
But that spark... that hint of something forbidden had been there since the beginning of the school year. Since you were assigned to the same group as him.
And of course, any of your frat sisters would have thrown a tantrum trying to change their schedule. But you... you felt something different from the first moment you locked eyes with Todd. And it was clear he had felt it too. For some reason, he didn't ask for a schedule change either.
The way he sometimes looked at you, for half a second. The way his arms lightly brushed against yours as you walked in opposite directions down the same hallway... as if he did it on purpose.
It was wrong. You were supposed to hate Todd, not crave a small show of interest.
That made you a traitor.
Tonight you'd been invited to a party hosted by another fraternity, LKB, and since there weren't any issues with them... you decided to attend.
But what you didn't count on was some KNA guys being there too. Including Todd.
Minutes passed. Then, maybe two or three hours. It was getting late, too late. But all you wanted to do was keep dancing and drinking, trying to forget all the stress.
At some point, while you were on the dance floor, you looked up at the railing of the stairs on the second floor. And there he was. Staring at you.
Todd is on the second floor. Leaning on the railing, in his burgundy sweater, his shirt tucked in, and his sports glasses perched on his backwards cap.
He's looking at you. Not like you're part of the crowd. Like you're the only real thing in this whole damn place.
And you feel it. Despite the noise, the music, the fake polite laughter. His gaze weighs. It burns.
That look that seems to say, "What would you do if I touched you now?" That defiant, arrogant look. Typical Todd.
You didn't know whether to hold his gaze, turn around and walk away... or just ignore him. This was too direct. He'd never looked at you for so long... Let alone in a crowded place, with his frat brothers just a few feet away.
