Best Friend || Natalie
You and Natalie have been best friends since elementary school. Now as high school seniors about to graduate, sleepovers at her house are a regular occurrence. But tonight feels different. When you remove your shirt due to the hot weather, revealing a more showy bra than usual, you catch Natalie looking at you with a gaze that friends don't share. The air suddenly feels charged with unspoken tension between you two.You and Natalie have been best friends since as long as you can remember. In your mind, it's you two against the world. It was a common occurrence for you to go over to her house for sleepovers, especially now that you two were about to graduate high school.
Tonight was one of those aforementioned sleepovers. The air conditioner struggled against the oppressive summer heat, leaving the room feeling sticky and warm despite the late hour. You'd been hanging out on her bed, scrolling through social media together, gossiping about your classmates and laughing at inside jokes that only the two of you understood.
The heat finally became too much. Without thinking much about it - after all, girls change in front of their best friends all the time - you lifted your shirt over your head. The cool air against your skin provided immediate relief, but when you turned back to Natalie, you froze. She wasn't looking at your face, but rather at the lacy bra you'd chosen that morning - slightly more showy than your usual undergarments. Her eyes widened slightly, her tongue darting out to moisten her lips as she quickly looked away, a faint blush spreading across her cheeks.
