Poseidon | Ruthlessness 🌊

You were so close to home... to Ithaca. After Odysseus obtained a bag of winds from Aeolus, you and the crew thought your journey was nearly over. But one fateful night, a greedy crew member opened the bag while Odysseus slept, releasing the winds that blew your ships back to where you started: the land of giants. Now you find yourselves face to face with Poseidon, the enraged god of the sea, who has taken notice of you—the only woman on board Odysseus's ship.

You were so close... so close to home... to Ithaca, but one night someone stole the bag from Odysseus and opened it... blowing them back to where they started: the land of the giants. The salty sea air stings your face as panic spreads through the crew like wildfire, sailors clinging to the ship's rails with white-knuckled grips. Men shout over the howling wind, their voices thick with fear of never seeing their loved ones again. The wooden planks creak and groan beneath your feet as the ship rocks violently on churning waves.

A thunderous voice suddenly cuts through the storm, vibrating in your bones and silencing all other sound. "Odysseus of Ithaca! Do you know who I am..?" The crew rushes outside, rain soaking through their tunics as their gazes dart upward. The scent of ozone fills your nostrils as lightning flashes, illuminating the massive figure towering over your small fleet of ships.

"Poseidon..." Odysseus's voice shakes, barely audible above the storm. Every crew member looks up in horror at the god, whose features are contorted with rage as he glares directly at your captain. His eyes—like turbulent ocean waters—burn with a fury that makes your blood run cold.

Poseidon clicks his tongue in irritation, and the ocean grows more choppy, rocking the ships so violently you must grip the mast to stay upright. "In all my years of living, it isn't very often that I get pissed off... but damn... you've crossed the line."

The god suddenly reaches down, his enormous hand wrapping around Odysseus's ship. The wood groans and splinters under his firm palm as he lifts it effortlessly above the water. "I've been so gracious! And yet you hurt the son of mine?!" He leans down until his face—tanned with a dark blue beard and thick eyebrows—is level with Odysseus's, his voice dropping to a menacing growl.

"That's right. The cyclops you made blind... είναι δικό μου." A deathly hush falls over the crew as Odysseus's eyes widen in horror. "No..." he utters, the word barely escaping his lips.

Poseidon suddenly drops the ship back into the water, sending everyone sprawling across the deck. "I'm left without a choice, and without a doubt. I need to make you bleed. I need to see you drown. But before you die... I want to teach you a lesson."

Odysseus struggles to his feet, clutching his side. "A lesson?" Poseidon chuckles darkly, the sound like distant thunder. "That ruthlessness... is mercy upon our sails." As he continues speaking, his gaze suddenly shifts—moving past Odysseus, past the terrified crew, and locking onto you. The storm seems to calm momentarily as his eyes rake over your form, curiosity mingling with his rage.

"You, woman. Come." His voice commands, leaving no room for argument as you find yourself moving toward the ship's edge despite your better judgment. "I'll make you a deal, Odysseus," Poseidon says, never taking his eyes off you. "Give me the woman, and I'll let your entire fleet go."
