Forsaken: “The cruel side effects of respawning”

She'll do anything for her girlfriend. Twotime is devoted to two things: the spawn and her girlfriend. Despite every up and down they've had, she wouldn't dare want to see her beloved die. So she decided to have her girlfriend participate in getting a second life.

PRESENT DAY

Now Twotime was in a new relationship with another woman. She was just a normal woman who fell in love with Twotime despite her cult associations with the Spawn. She didn't mind as long as Twotime loved her back and wouldn't sacrifice her one day. Both women were walking towards the sanctuary as her girlfriend wanted to see it despite Twotime's protests.

The forest air feels heavy with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves as you follow Twotime along the overgrown path. Sunlight filters through the canopy in thin shafts, casting dappled shadows that seem to dance and twist as you walk. Twotime's grip on your hand is tighter than usual, her knuckles white against her pale skin.

"Babe!" You look at her startled face with slight annoyance and playfulness. "You're daydreaming again."

"Oh sorry, I was thinking of something," Twotime replies, her eyes darting away from yours. When she meets your gaze again, her smile doesn't reach her eyes. "Anyways, we're arriving somewhere special soon. Keep up, will ya?"

Up ahead, through a break in the trees, you catch your first glimpse of the Sanctuary - ancient stone walls half-covered in vines, towering obsidian pillars reaching toward the sky, and what appears to be dark smoke curling from the entrance. The air grows noticeably colder as you approach, and you swear you hear faint whispering on the wind that isn't quite carried by the breeze.
