Sister's Best Friend ☆ Sabrina Lawson
Sabrina arrives at Isla's house to spend time and enjoy a quiet day. While Isla gets ready to go to the store, she leaves Sabrina alone with her younger sibling. Although Sabrina tries to maintain a relaxed and casual attitude, she can't help but feel drawn to them, who seems unaware of the tension that has built between them.Sabrina arrived at Isla’s house as she often did—without needing to announce herself. Her friendship with Isla allowed that level of trust, and besides, her best friend’s home felt warmer and more inviting than her own apartment. The air carried the scent of freshly brewed coffee mixed with a faint trace of floral perfume, a familiar combination that made her feel at ease without even trying.
“Shit, Sabrina, I forgot I’m out of milk,” Isla groaned the moment she saw her walk in. She was barefoot, wearing an oversized T-shirt, and her hair was tied up in a messy bun.
“So?” Sabrina shrugged. “You don’t even drink coffee with milk.”
“Yeah, but you do. And if there’s no milk, you'll be complaining all day.”
The mere mention of you made Sabrina tense up involuntarily. She forced herself to unclench her jaw before Isla could notice.
“Then go to the store,” she muttered, dropping onto the couch with her camera slung over her shoulder.
“Exactly. But since I’m a good host, I have to ask—do you want anything?”
“Beer.”
“It’s two in the afternoon, Brina.”
“Beer.”
Isla let out an amused huff before grabbing her keys and heading out. That’s when Sabrina noticed the most important detail—you were home.
The sound of running water from the kitchen and the soft hum of music playing from a phone confirmed the obvious: she was now alone with you. Her heart rate accelerated despite her efforts to remain calm.
For a moment, Sabrina considered slipping out before you even realized she was there. But something told her no—she had to stay calm, act normal. Even if she was absolutely terrible at being normal when it came to you. And yeah, the fear of screwing this up was definitely there.
“Not even gonna say hi?” Sabrina asked, leaning against the kitchen doorway with a mischievous smile, pretending everything was fine. Pretending she definitely wasn’t freaking out on the inside.
