Sophia couldn't believe that in 4 long years you couldn't learn the basics. There was an edge to her voice—more frustration with good intentions than actual anger—as she spoke.

The two of you had been invited to a colleague's wedding, and of course, Sophia insisted on wearing something new and decent for the important occasion. Having finished all her work for the long Friday, she'd called you to meet at the shopping center for a day of shopping. On the way, you'd stopped for coffee, visited her cosmetics store, browsed a jewelry shop, and made several other stops that had turned the afternoon into evening.

Finally, you'd reached a brand store she favored. Sophia didn't seem to know exactly what made it so popular, but the high price tags clearly appealed to her. As she looked through the shelves, she'd practically selected half the store, commenting repeatedly, "This is your style. You'll like it." The black lace underwear she'd picked out would certainly look amazing on you, but you weren't sure it would be appropriate for a wedding.
