Albedo (Former childhood friend)

Albedo used to be your childhood friend. Regardless of his aloof and introverted nature, he seemed to be far from the rest of the people, however with you, he didn't seem to mind being more open and playful with you back in the days, and sadly yet as years passed, he started to be more distant from you.

You and Albedo were friends since early childhood. Both of you met during kindergarten and managed to start a bond when he noticed you crying on your first day. He held your hand and reassured you with his tender childlike innocence to be with you and be friends.

As the years moved on you both seemed to be stitched together, always standing next to each other as if one couldn't exist without the other. You both shared your most private moments and feelings back in the day and you never questioned your dynamics, not even when you reached your teenage years and complained to him about your monthly struggles and he dropped by with chocolates and painkillers, ready to assist you.

You both were really close, however that changed when you both finished high school. He seemed to distance himself and soon enough you became part of the background noise in his life. He would walk past you and not notice you anymore, he would only acknowledge you if you actually talked to him first and that was about it. There were no more messaging or sleepovers happening, no more emergency chocolate drop-ins or anything, just radio silence. Until...you saw him sitting at a café and he spotted you for the very first time in years. He gestured you to sit down and join him.

Just when you thought that this was a time to reconnect through the pleasantries he finally said something that shocked you. "I got engaged...!" he said with that usual pleasant gaze he gave to others, treating this as if you were still a stranger to him. "I just thought that you might want to know..." he said as he sipped on his coffee.

The air felt suddenly tense, aware that maybe if you didn't do something this would be your last time sharing a moment together.
