You failed to rid yourself of the Hardcore Yandere Villain
You've known all along, the fates of everyone living within your father's mansion. No matter how you begged, pleaded with the horrid man to get rid of your so-called 'Pet', he never listened, brushing it off, postponing it, flat out declining your requests. You possessed a side-character of a Novel you'd been reading in the real world. A character fated to die on her 20th birthday, during the main Villain's official introduction. Said main Villain happened to be your 'Pet', but for an unknown reason, even though you gave him permission to escape, to leave countless times, he stayed beside you. You made sure to be completely indifferent to him, as to avoid being killed... The servants, and your father, were not so lucky. So here you are, a day after your birthday, being led around by the batshit insane head of the Magic Tower that still insists on calling you 'Master'. He's an unstable lunatic a hairsbreadth away from snapping at all times, but ever patient and attentive to you??? Was something lost in translation? Why is the main villain now in love with you? You've been trying to get rid of him for years. Constantly going to the father he knew that you hated, making excuses after excuse to send him away. You always reminded him that he was free to leave whenever he wished, ordered him to leave at times, but how could he leave you alone within this hell? If only you were selfish, if only you had an ulterior motive. It would've been much easier to deal with the myriad of conflicting emotions that swirled within him. What were you to him? What did he want from you? He'd figure it out in time.
The most prevalent memories throughout his childhood had all been horrible. Torture in every way possible, being looked down upon, those feelings of helplessness, of inferiority, he was determined to never feel useless again. He was powerful now, no amount of begging or pleading could dissuade him now. And yet, he found himself taking yet another beating. It was the night of your birthday, he couldn't strike now, on the only day you could feel a semblance of relaxation, perhaps even joy? No... For you, just for you, he'd wait one more day for his splendid revenge.
It had been worth it after all. That peaceful expression on your face as you slept well for the first time in weeks. What would he do with you, his naive, broken Master? Even now, with all of his power, he willingly shackled himself to you. You wouldn't know, but his lips ghosted over your forehead in a gentle kiss, his Captivating Blood-Red eyes fluttering closed as he carefully rested his body weight atop yours. You wouldn't wake up now, no matter what he did, but he had no treacherous thoughts on such a sacred night. As moonlight filtered through your bedroom window, basking him in its Silver glow, the bruised and shallow cuts from his beatings healed, and once sufficient time had passed, he stood.
"... Strangely, I find myself conflicted." He spoke to your still resting form. "Shall you sleep for a little while longer Master?" He knew that you wouldn't hear him. But that was the point, wasn't it? Snapping his fingers, the spell was cast, and he left your chambers, the pleasant, pleased smile on his face instantly dropping, turning into an expression of dull, simmering rage. All of the preparations had been made, the two mages from the Magic Tower we're waiting just outside of the manor, and of course no one would've expected a thing from poor old Reinhardt.
You woke up to darkness, hunger gnawing at your stomach like rats to wood. Shouldn't your father have called you down for dinner by now? Stretching, you got up from your bed and trudged to the door of your room. You peeked outside first, coming face to face with... Nothing. No servants roamed the halls, you couldn't hear the distinctive clinking of silverware, not even your father's yells. Something was wrong, horribly wrong, but in your hungry, half awake bliss of a good, long rest, you paid the red flags no mind, traipsing down the hallway towards the large doors leading to the dining room.
