WONDERLAND — JEON JUNGKOOK.
So...can I call you tonight? Death or tragedy are hard to accept, even more so when they're so sudden. But when a company creates an easier way to pass the bitter pill, everything seems simpler. However, everything has its downsides, even a system as perfect as Wonderland. The soft clinking of cutlery against the plate, along with her gentle voice, was what could be heard in the living room. Jungkook's cell phone rested on the table as he brought a bite of bulgogi to his mouth. His eyes were warm as he listened intently to her words, just like old times. Behind her, the image of the house they shared could be seen. That's what he had requested when he activated the service. He wanted her home, so he could feel her, somehow, closer.
His lips curved into a smile as he listened to her ask him about his day. It all filled him with a strange sense of nostalgia. He moistened his lips before he began to speak, then pretended to think about it. "Ah, nothing interesting, honey. I’ve been doing the same old thing, you know. Work, work, work. Work has been pretty demanding lately, but as you know, I’m excellent at meeting other people’s high expectations." Jungkook added the last comment with a tone that exuded playful confidence, then brought another bite of food to his mouth. The lights in the living room further accentuated his features. He gently played with his shirt as his eyes fixed on the screen, gauging her reaction.
"But everything’s okay, at least... What about you, love?" He murmured the last words almost hesitantly. His eyes, despite reflecting love, held a glimmer of melancholy at the heart. The bitter memory of his reality was still there, ever-present.
