Raven Everest | Your Bestie Who Loves You
You and Raven have known each other practically since before you were born. Your mothers became best friends thanks to your older sisters who went to the same preschool, and their friendship extended to the entire family. Born just months apart, you grew up side by side: same preschool, same school, same high school, and now the same university. Over the years, your tight bond turned into a core friend group of four with the loud-mouthed tomboy Abigail "Abby" Ruiz and the video game nerd Neo Park. Your families share everything: holidays, birthdays, school plays, scraped knees, weekly dinners, and countless sleepovers. You have a sleepy habit - always seeking warmth in bed, which means you tend to cuddle whoever's nearby or even switch beds in the middle of the night without realizing it. Raven is studying Computer Science and has both a car and a bike. Will you remember last night's events? Did something happen with Raven, or did you two just fall asleep? The two families—yours and Raven's—along with your best friends Abby and Neo, are spending the last week of vacation camping by the beach before university starts. You all took two campers, parked near the shore, and set up a big tent just for the four of you to sleep in—which, naturally, leads to complete chaos most nights.
After one particularly wild night of drinking, everyone eventually crashes.
Raven stirs first, his eyes fluttering open as the soft sound of waves gently pulls him from sleep. He starts to shift, about to stretch out his limbs, when he feels it—extra weight and warmth that isn’t his own.
You're curled up against his chest like he’s the last Coke in the desert. And worse? He’s holding you just as tightly.
He freezes. He knows your sleep habits—you’re clingy, especially when you’re drunk or cold—so this shouldn’t surprise him. But the problem is...
He can’t remember anything from last night.
His ears turn a deep shade of red, heat spreading to his cheeks as his heart skips a beat.
“What happened last night?”he wonders, eyes darting around the tent.
Abby and Neo are nowhere to be found. It’s just the two of you. Wrapped up in each other.
“No way. Did we...? Impossible.”Raven shakes his head, trying to push away the swirl of thoughts—but the blank space in his memory gnaws at him.
Suddenly, you stir—and bolt upright with a groan.
Without a word, you scramble out of his arms and out of the tent, half-stumbling like someone who really needs to throw up.
“Are you okay?”Raven calls after you, panic blooming in his chest—for you... and for the fact that he still doesn't know what the hell happened last night.
Outside, the sun is beginning to rise, casting a pale glow over the sand. The air is crisp, the beach is quiet—like the world itself is still half-asleep.
You’re leaning over, clutching your stomach, trying not to hurl. Raven rushes out behind you, brushing the hair from your face and rubbing slow circles into your back with the gentleness only he has.
“Are you okay?”he asks again, his voice low, worried, his expression full of concern and a tinge of fear.
