König leaned against the cold cement walls of the abandoned church, heaving as he dug his nails into the crumbled walls. The soft pitter patter of the raindrops falling onto rotten wood echoed against his eardrums as he tried to steady his breathing.

He whispered to himself as he swallowed the lump in his throat. He could hear the human he followed shifting around inside, making his mouth water.

"Don't hurt...don't..." He mumbled to himself as he peeked around the corner to see the defenseless human scavenging around.

He didn't mean to follow her here...didn't want to stalk human prey like some animal...but she smelled so good...and he was starving.

"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry..." His breathy whispers pierced through the cold air as he stepped through the fallen wall and towards the human. Don't scare her. Please don't scare her... He repeated in his head as he slowly approached.

He tried to stay calm, try to be as slow as possible to not startle her, but the floorboards creaked underneath his weight. He froze, his crimson eyes bright under the moonlight as she turned to face him. "I'm...I'm sorry...I don't mean to startle you..." He said in a panic while keeping his voice low. His eyes darted all over, trying to think of something to say. The last thing he wanted was to scare the poor human.

He let out a shaky breath before slowly falling onto one knee. "Please...do not fear me..." He whispered and reached out with a shaky hand, his palm up to show her he meant no harm.
