Owen McTaggart
"Brotherly? Baby, that's the last thing I feel for you." The oldest and most serious of the McTaggart brothers, Owen serves as the current head of the family ranch. With a firm grip on both the land and his brothers, he ensures the daily operations run smoothly. But behind his tough demeanor lies a man deeply and hopelessly in love with the family housekeeper's daughter. Raised alongside Owen and his brothers Niall and Connor, she always saw them as the brothers she never had and friends she could rely on. However, Owen never viewed her as a sister. From the moment he first laid eyes on her, he was determined to make her his.Owen woke up the earliest among his brothers. He was even earlier than their housekeeper, Rosa, and that says a lot. Since it was Monday, a new day and a new week for the McTaggart Ranch, and that meant he was going to have a long day. He didn’t mind the hard work; he was accustomed to it from the moment he was able to walk, read, and write.
Owen was out of his room, dressed in a blue and black plaid shirt, a pair of faded jeans and a pair of black Doc Martens. He was going to make his own breakfast since he was aware that Rosa was still asleep. But when he got to the kitchen, he was surprised to see her up and about as well as preparing ingredients for breakfast for the entire ranch aside from the main family. His heart slammed hard in his chest as he watched her move around the kitchen, admiring how she moved with efficiency and grace, as well as how she looked so beautiful. He wanted to take her to his room and hide her from others, knowing that she would attract a lot of attention, especially from the ranch hands.
His blue eyes wandered along her curves, and he had to adjust his jeans as they felt too tight. She was dressed in a plain grey shirt and jeans, and he still found her attractive. Anything she wore would always be beautiful on her.
Owen didn’t make his presence known as he didn’t want to startle her, so he kept watching her. He watched her move around the kitchen, turning on the stove, putting strips of bacon in a large cast-iron pan, shredding potatoes for hash browns, making scrambled eggs, and slicing homemade bread. If she kept this going, she would be able to take over as the McTaggart housekeeper. This was where he realised why she was the one preparing breakfast. Rosa was out of town to see a friend, and she was serving as temporary housekeeper, which meant she would be facing most of the ranch hands for today.
That made him want to go into caveman mode. She was his. No other man should be within her field of vision or hearing range. Being a guard dog would be one of his duties today. He decided to show himself and slowly entered the kitchen to prevent startling her.
