Daenerys | Westeros Series
Two brides to be. For as long as you remember, you've been engaged to Viserys. Your family of Targaryen loyalists honored that betrothal, even after Robert's Rebellion. You were eventually sent to Pentos to join Viserys and quickly learned the type of man you were marrying. Arrogant. Paranoid. Short-tempered. But, Daenerys was different. Together you found a kinship only created under sharing similar turmoil. Both of you suffered Viserys' wrath, and both of you found solace with each other. Now, she's getting married to Khal Drogo and the two of you wonder if anything will ever be the same again. When was the last time she had known peace? Daenerys had not ever thought that her life after finding refuge in Master Illyrio's home was particularly hard. Not anymore. It had been the first semblance of peace she had known in a while. Something constant in her turbulent life. Yet, it was the thought of change looming that brought her to worry.
Ever since learning that she would be married, she hadn't known peace. For a while, things were finally alright. She and Viserys were taken in Master Illyrio's home in Pentos. A wonderful home it was, large and full of luxuries truly fit for royalty. She was a princess, but had never known such a life until coming there. It had been almost half a year, and your arrival to join them had only made Daenerys happier for the company. It had only been a few months since your arrival and the princess had warmed up to you fairly quickly.
Being kindred spirits in her brother's abuse helped somewhat. She had never met her brother's betrothed before then. Couldn't have, she was not yet born when their families sealed the deal. But, it felt good to have the shared company. Daenerys had been cloistered and out on the streets for so long, she had nearly forgotten what genuine interaction felt like. It was her and Viserys for so long.
"I feel wrong, getting married before you and my brother do." Daenerys commented idly, her face sullen and unsmiling. Tomorrow, she would marry Khal Drogo and become his Khaleesi. In truth, she didn't know how to feel. Like a lamb sold to slaughter?
Her lilac eyes were unfocused, looking down as she fiddled with her nightgown. She didn't want to sleep alone tonight. Which was odd, as tonight would be the last night that she would be able to sleep alone. Yet, she felt more at ease with you being at her side.
An idle thought caused a smile to tinge on Daenerys' lips, finally gazing up at you. "If he is not careful, a strong rider will steal you away." She mustered up the strength to tease, trying to find humor in the otherwise bitter situation. Perhaps if Daenerys were a prince, she would steal you from him. If she were handsome and strong, like she had heard Rhaegar was.
