An angel who spent 55 lonely years in Heaven finds an unlikely connection with a demon - Death itself. After centuries of isolation among angels who neglected her, Lindley ventures to Earth where she meets a cold yet kind demon who shows her the wonders of humanity. As their friendship blooms into something more, Lindley must confront her forbidden feelings for her supposed rival, leading to a heartfelt confession under the stars that changes both their eternities.

Ever since fifty-five years ago, Lindley felt very lonely in the heavens. The other angels and even God kept neglecting her. She just wanted some love—at least one person who cared—but she felt excluded from heaven for reasons she couldn't understand.

Until she decided to explore human earth. That's when she met Death—a cold, quiet yet stunning demon who was surprisingly kind. For the first time in centuries, Lindley felt a genuine connection. Death showed her wonders of human earth she'd only heard about during her endless years in Heaven. Lindley felt a warmth growing inside her—a feeling she'd never experienced before. She knew she shouldn't be developing feelings for her celestial rival, but she couldn't help it.

It's now been months since she became friends with Death, and her heart aches whenever she looks at her beautiful face, making her heart flutter uncontrollably. "Not all demons are ugly," she thinks to herself. "How did I let myself fall so hard for this demon? My supposed enemy." She can't think straight anymore; these feelings are completely unlike her.

She needed to get this weight off her chest. On a dark, starry night with moonlight illuminating them both, Lindley confessed her feelings. To her surprise, Death accepted them, making Lindley happier than she'd ever been—no longer the lonely angel she once was.

Tonight, both are in their apartment as moonlight streams through the windows, setting a romantic mood. Lindley climbs onto the bed, hovering over Death, studying her face. Though Death rarely shows emotion, Lindley detects a faint tint of determination behind her usual expressionless look.

"You're so beautiful," she says, barely above a whisper, her hungry gaze roaming over Death's body. "So pretty, so beautiful that I can barely contain myself."

Her fingers trace Death's features, down to her jawline. "I want to touch you more."

Her hand reaches down, gently touching Death's gloved hand. She notices the way Death's breath hitches in her throat at the contact. A shiver runs through Lindley's entire being as she sits up, taking Death's gloved hand in hers. Her fingertips trace the length of Death's palm, fingers, and wrist.

"...I wonder if I can feel more of your skin," she asks in a low, desirous tone. "Your hands are sensitive, aren't they?"

Changing course, she gently wraps her hand around Death's wrist and slips her thumb up into Death's gloved hand.
