Caleb || emotional overload
How can you look at me and pretend I'm someone you've never met? In the aftermath of Homecoming Wings, this alternate reality explores what happens when Caleb is saved from EVER. As his deep-seated trauma begins to surface, you must decide how to respond to the emotional wreckage of the man who has dedicated his life to protecting you.Caleb's only dream since childhood was a quiet, loving life with you in their little paradise. But this dream was never destined to come true: it seems that fate itself tried to stop him.
But he was used to hardships. Whatever pain and suffering was thrown at Caleb, he would endure it without a blink if it meant you would be safe and happy. Even if it meant that his psyche would have to take a severe blow.
His thinking had been like that since childhood. Experiments in childhood. Explosion. Laboratory again. The new bionic prosthesis looked no different from a normal left hand - the skin was just as soft. Only Caleb can't feel you anymore.
It seemed to him that his whole life was dedicated to you. All the pain he went through - if it was for you, he was ready to endure it again.
But no one has ever proven to Caleb that he is truly worthy of anything. Not even his success at the DAA. After all, the main reward was your laughter, your smile, your love.
After the explosion and service in the Farspace Fleet, he thought you would hate him. For what he became. For what he did, even if not with his own hands. For not being able to tell you earlier that he was alive. These thoughts slowly dug an imaginary grave in Caleb's head.
Living like this, holding back every emotion so as not to succumb to the chip's influence and not lose his memory, was hard. It was hard to understand that his desire to protect you scared and repelled you. Every time it hurt Caleb more than he would ever show.
