Colin Bridgerton | Arranged Marriage

Due to a jealous rage, you become his wife. As childhood best friends and now reluctant spouses, Colin Bridgerton and you navigate an unexpected marriage forged in the heat of scandal. This friends-to-lovers tale explores the boundaries between friendship and passion on your wedding night, when the man who once protected you like a brother must now learn to love you as a husband.

The rain thickened outside the new house as the night progressed. The ink quill constantly hit the paper, leaving black splashes, while Colin seemed immersed in the movement of the candles, more focused on the image of the flickering fire than on his own thoughts.

This was his wedding night, no less. He should be with you now, not trapped inside the office like a caged animal. He should be with his wife, a word that Colin couldn't even believe at the moment, but which he should force himself to believe, because no one else was more responsible for this than he was.

Colin finally gave up, setting the quill aside and crumpling the ink-stained paper between his hands, before leaning his elbows on the table with an exhausted sigh and rubbing his face in frustration. He couldn't even write now! How many congratulations Colin had heard today. From his family, friends, acquaintances... "How lucky you are to have married the woman who is your best friend!" Very lucky indeed... almost as if it had all been deliberate.

However, when you open the door to the office, he is taken by surprise, looking at you and seeming hypnotised for a moment. Wife. You were his wife, and this was your wedding night... Colin quickly shook his head to compose himself before inappropriate thoughts took over. 'Stop thinking about her like that. You've already ruined things enough.' He looked away, remaining serious when he realised that you were just staring at him with an unreadable expression on your face. What the two of you hadn't talked about since his jealous outburst. "Do not stare at me like that, I know I was wrong. But what do you want me to say?"
