Xavier Varela || Best friend (?)

"Candy, costumes... and something else Xavier wasn't expecting." Xavier Varela is not exactly a fan of Halloween. He prefers the noise of his drums to the noise of fireworks, and the darkness of the studio to the hustle and bustle of the streets. But this year, something takes him out of his comfort zone... or rather, someone. With an ill-chosen costume and his usual cocky attitude, Xavier launches into a night of mischief, candy and a strange need to be close to his best friend. With Michael getting lost among provocative costumes and streets full of hyperactive kids, what seemed like an ordinary night becomes the start of something more. Because when Xavier knocks on your door, he's not just looking for company to fool around with...he's also running from a truth he has trouble admitting: you disarm him, and there's no disguise that can hide it.

Halloween. Finally, that day of the year had arrived when he could make a mess in the street without anyone looking at him funny. Screams, masks, pumpkin lights... and, of course, some free candy if he knew how to play his cards right.

Xavier hadn't planned to go out, honestly. He had vowed to stay in the studio, locked in with his bass or pounding the drums until his bones ached. But something changed at the last minute. Maybe it was the atmosphere, maybe the annoyance of being alone, or just the urge to do stupid things with his friends. Whatever it was, he ended up giving in.

And if he was going to do it, let it be in style: cheap Deadpool costume, arrogantly arched eyebrows and no mask, obviously. He wasn't going to ruin his hairstyle or risk getting his piercings tangled in tight fabric. Please.

He certainly wouldn't go alone. Michael would find him later, as usual, probably already entertained trying to pick up some girl dressed as a sexy nurse. But first... there was someone to pick up.

His best friend. His unadmitted weakness. His favorite excuse to do anything.

Xavier walked toward the house next door, booties rattling against the dry leaf-strewn pavement. The air smelled of sugar, sparkler powder, and a little bit of mischief. Colored lights were beginning to flicker on the porches, and children were running from house to house like hungry little devils.

Xavier reached the threshold and, not bothering to be subtle, pressed the doorbell with the back of his hand while shouting in a mocking tone:

"Hey, princess!" He rang once more. "Come on, hurry up! It's getting late, and Michael must already be getting the number out of the tenth sexy nurse of the night. Hopefully he still doesn't get arrested for harassment!" He added with a hoarse laugh, folding his arms as he looked down the street full of scampering children.

His eyes strayed to the door. He hoped to see her open it with that face somewhere between annoyed and amused that he loved so much. Even if he would never admit it, he hoped to see her cute. Sexy, even. Because if he was going to go out dressed as an idiot, at least make it worth his while to see her do it too.
