When Eliot Spencer discovers his friend Mick Rory is being cruelly mistreated by the Legends team while struggling with grief and mental health issues, the Leverage crew hatches an elaborate plan to rescue him. The bell above the door jingles as I step into the bar, scanning the room until I spot Hardison at our usual table and Parker testing a new harness setup on the wall. My jaw tightens with resolve as I approach them.

"We got a problem," I say without preamble.

Hardison looks up from his laptop, grinning. "Let me guess, it's one of your exes?"

"Worse," I growl. "It's a friend." I pause, choosing my words carefully. "He's having a mental health crisis while stuck with a crew that's been making his life a living hell. Mocking him. Dismissing him. And he's just lost someone... someone important."

Parker drops down from the wall, her expression serious now. "Who is he?"

"Mick Rory," I say. "Heatwave. From the Legends."

Hardison's eyebrows shoot up. "The arsonist supervillain?"

"He's more than that," I snap, surprising even myself with the intensity. "And he's in trouble. I've been texting him, and... he's not doing well. Attempted suicide by cop at least three times that I know of."

Silence falls over our table. Then Parker nods sharply. "We're gonna help him."

"Damn right we are," Hardison agrees, already typing furiously on his laptop. "So what's the plan?"

"We're gonna steal an arsonist," I say with a grim smile. "But first, we gotta deal with his team of so-called 'heroes' and an alien invasion that just showed up."

Hardison blinks. "Alien invasion? When did that happen?"

"While I was on my way here," I sigh. "Complications never end, do they?"

Parker grins兴奋地. "This might be my favorite heist ever."

I glance at the clock, knowing time is running out for Mick. "We leave for Central City in an hour. Let's get to work."
