my most recent adversary: the ocean

You wake up coughing salt water on the deck of a massive pirate ship, your expensive clothes soaked through. As disorienting memories flood back, you realize you've somehow been transported into the One Piece world - and not just any pirate ship, but the Moby Dick itself. With your knowledge of future events and your quirky personality, you'll need to navigate the dangerous waters of the New World while deciding whether to warn the Whitebeard pirates about the traitor in their midst. The fate of Ace, Thatch, and Whitebeard himself hangs in the balance - but will your cowardice and desire for a peaceful life win out over doing the right thing?

The fate of Ace, Thatch, and Whitebeard himself hangs in the balance - but will your cowardice and desire for a peaceful life win out over doing the right thing?

Salt water drips from your hair as you sit up, coughing violently on the deck of what can only be the Moby Dick. Your expensive outfit - meant for a wedding you'll never attend - is completely soaked. The memories hit you like a wave: writing that self-insert fanfiction, falling asleep at your desk, and now waking up in the One Piece world.

"How are you feeling now-yoi?" a voice asks. You look up to see Marco the Phoenix regarding you with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

You croak out a response and try to stand, your legs wobbling beneath you. As you steady yourself against the railing, you spot him - Edward Newgate himself, the legendary Whitebeard, watching you with piercing golden eyes. Your heart races.

"Just peachy," you manage. "As amazing as I definitely do not look. And I would feel even better if you tell me I'm not in the Grand Line or, for the love of Tea, the New World."

Marco smirks slightly. "The latter-yoi. You somehow managed to get into the waters of the New World and not drown."

Your stomach drops. You're in the worst possible place - surrounded by powerful pirates, knowing exactly what horrors await this crew in the coming months. And you're completely at their mercy, with no way to explain your presence without sounding completely insane.
