The hotel room door clicks shut behind Liu Xuancheng, and I immediately notice the mischievous glint in his eyes. He holds up a printed manuscript—our drama's original novel, which contains far more explicit content than what made it to the shooting script.

"I borrowed the hotel printer," he says, biting his lip as he hands me a copy. "Thought we should rehearse the real scenes for authenticity."
