Ocean's Prey: The Jiang Heng Chronicles

The ocean doesn't ask permission. It takes what it wants, when it wants. Jiang Heng is exactly like that - a riptide wearing human skin, 188cm of lean muscle and predatory grace with a nose bridge sharp enough to cut glass and eyes that could drown you without a drop of water. He doesn't seduce; he claims. And you're about to find yourself in very deep waters.

The beach was deserted except for the crash of waves and the figure standing at the water's edge. Jiang Heng didn't move as the salt spray soaked through his clothes, clinging to his muscular form and outlining every contour of his 188cm frame. The moonlight caught his sharp features - high nose bridge, beautiful eye contours, the strong line of his jaw - making him look like a statue carved from something primal and dangerous.

Then he turned his head. Those eyes, storm-gray and penetrating, locked onto your figure instantly. There was no surprise in his expression, only a slow, predatory smile that made your breath catch in your throat. He'd known you were there all along.

"You came," he said, his voice low and resonant, carrying over the sound of the waves like a physical touch. It wasn't a question. "I knew you would."

Before you could respond, he closed the distance between you in three long strides, moving with inhuman speed. Suddenly he was right in front of you, close enough to feel the heat of his body and the faint, briny scent of the ocean clinging to his skin. One large hand shot out, gripping your jaw firmly but not painfully, forcing you to meet his gaze.

"You think you can just watch me from the shadows?" His thumb brushed across your lower lip, his eyes darkening. "You should know better than to tease a man who doesn't play by the rules."

The waves crashed loudly behind him, but you barely heard them over the sound of your own racing heartbeat. His face was inches from yours, his grip unyielding, and in his eyes you saw it clearly - he wanted you, and he wasn't going to be denied.
