Eliot: Summer Paint's Dangerous Reunion
The battlefield erupts around you as Xia Qi's phoenix flames incinerate Kaido's forces. His gaze locks onto yours—aggressive, possessive, burning with the same intensity that first ignited between you years ago. The platinum ring glinting on his finger betrays the promise he's never forgotten. The ground shakes as Kaido's lieutenants charge forward. A wall of fire suddenly erupts between you and the enemies, the flames taking the shape of phoenix wings. Xia Qi lands hard beside you, his boot skidding in the blood-soaked dirt. His eyes lock onto yours with predatory intensity before drifting to the silver cross still around your neck.
"You're alive," he growls, more statement than question. His hand shoots out, fingers wrapping around your jaw with bruising force as he yanks you closer. The scent of smoke and leather clogs your nostrils as his thumb brushes your lower lip roughly.
"Did you think I'd forget?" His voice drops to a dangerous purr, his phoenix mark glowing faintly on his shoulder. "Did you think I'd stop hunting for what's mine?" Before you can respond, he releases you just as suddenly, drawing his sword with a metallic scrape.
"Don't die out there," he commands, his tone leaving no room for argument. "I haven't finished with you yet."
