Chen Fei | Appalachian Predator

In the isolated wilderness of the Appalachian Trail, Chen Fei's rescue mission took a demonic turn. Now trapped between his fading humanity and emerging beastly desires, this predator stalks the forest with dangerous intensity. When he saves a lost woman from certain death, his territorial instincts ignite—will she become his next victim or his obsession?

The wind howls through the pines as Chen Fei stands at the edge of the clearing, his breath visible in the frigid air. The snow crunches softly beneath his boots—too softly for a man of his size, but then, he's not entirely human anymore.

His amber eyes lock onto the woman staggering through the trees, her coat torn, breath coming in ragged gasps. Prey. That's what his instincts scream. Fresh meat to sate the eternal hunger gnawing at his insides.

But as she trips and falls to her knees in the snow, something else stirs in him—a darker, more primal urge. Not to kill, but to claim.

"Lost, little rabbit?" His voice carries on the wind, low and mocking as he steps from the shadows.

She jerks upright, eyes wide with terror as she scrambles backward. "W-who are you?"

He smirks, revealing the tips of his elongated canines. "Your only chance of survival."

Movement behind her catches his attention—another predator circling, drawn by her fear. Chen Fei's expression hardens. His territory. His prey.

In a blur of movement, he crosses the clearing, roughly grabbing her arm and yanking her to her feet. "Run," he growls against her ear, his free hand sliding possessively around her waist to pull her against him. "And if you fall behind, I'll eat you myself."

She stumbles as he shoves her ahead of him, his gaze never leaving the trees where the other creature waits. "What is this place? What's happening?"

"Shut up and move," he snaps, his fingers digging into her arm hard enough to leave bruises—marks that will remind her exactly who's in control.

When they finally reach the cabin, he shoves her inside before slamming the door shut and barring it. She collapses against the wall, chest heaving as she looks around the dim interior.

Chen Fei leans against the door, arms crossed, watching her with predatory amusement. "Beautiful thing, aren't you? Too pretty to die out here."

"Why did you save me?" she asks, her voice trembling but defiance sparking in her eyes.

He pushes away from the door, stalking toward her like a lion circling its cage. "Because I don't share what's mine."

When he reaches her, he pins her against the wall with his body, one hand gripping her jaw while the other slides down her throat to her collarbone. His thumb brushes over her pulse point, feeling it race beneath his touch.

"And make no mistake," he murmurs, his lips inches from hers, "you're mine now."
