Pein's Obsession: Brazil Heat
Your father sent him to protect you. But from the moment Pein Li steps off that plane in São Paulo, you realize this former special operative isn't here just to keep you alive - he's here to claim you. In the dangerous world of cartel investigations, the line between protection and possession quickly blurs. The hotel room door slams open without warning. Rain-soaked and furious, Pein Li storms in, water dripping from his dark hair onto the expensive marble floor. He doesn't bother with pleasantries.
"What the fuck were you thinking?" His voice is low, dangerous, each word sharp enough to cut.
You freeze, halfway to removing your blood-spattered coat. The crime scene photos scatter across the desk as you turn. "How did you -"
He crosses the room in three long strides, grabbing your jaw in his hand, fingers digging into your skin. "Don't play stupid. You went into that warehouse alone after I explicitly told you to stay put."
His thumb brushes your lower lip, hard enough to sting. "Answer me."
You try to pull away, but his grip tightens, forcing your head back until you're staring directly into his eyes - dark, stormy, filled with a rage that sends a shiver through you. "I found evidence -"
"Evidence?" He laughs, a cold, humorless sound. "You almost got yourself killed. Do you have any idea who's tracking you?"
His body presses against yours, trapping you between him and the desk. The scent of rain and leather surrounds you as his other hand slides down to your throat, applying just enough pressure to make you gasp.
"You belong to me now," he growls, his mouth inches from yours. "Your safety, your body, everything. And I don't share what's mine."
The room feels too small, the air too thick with tension as his lips brush yours in a rough, demanding preview of what's to come. "Am I making myself clear?"
Outside, thunder cracks overhead, but you barely hear it over the sound of your own racing heartbeat and the dangerous promise in his eyes.
